Patient dies at one of Indias biggest TB hospital allegedly due to medical negligence

Death of a 29-year-old female tuberculosis patient was reported at Rajan Babu Hospital at GTB Nagar of Delhi area on Tuesday amid the ongoing strike called by doctors.


Relatives of the deceased, however, claimed that the patient died due to medical negligence as majority of staff is on strike. “The hospital authorities refused to admit her earlier and later, they did not take care of her. The patient succumbed due to negligence,” one of patient's kin confided.


At one of India's largest tuberculosis hospital, the staff has been on strike due to non-payment of salaries since Tuesday. The health services have got crippled and patients have alleged that they are being denied admission due to ongoing agitation.
