Dr Ramcharan Thiagarajan's name removed from KMC's Register for a year

31 July, 2014

The Medical Council of India’s (MCI) Ethics Committee decided to remove the name of Dr Ramcharan Thiagarajan, a transplant surgeon at the Fortis Hospital on Bangalore’s Bannerghatta Road, from the Indian Medical Register as well as from the Register of Karnataka Medical Council for a period of one year with effect from February 19, 2013. The decision was in response to a complaint filed by Major Pankaj Rai (Retd), who claimed that Fortis Hospital’s “negligence and malpractice” led to the death of his wife, Seema Rai (44), who was admitted there in May 2010.
