Doctor suspended after woman dies due to medical negligence at Banihal hospital

A doctor was placed under suspension after a woman died due to alleged medical negligence at CHC Banihal on Thursday.

Protests had erupted in Banihal town of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday after Zubaida Begum (30), wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Magray, resident of Ashar village of Banihal died at the hospital here.

“As per the directions of worthy Chief Medical Officer Ramban, Dr Rubeena, M.O. CHC Banihal is hereby suspended in view of the pending enquiry regarding death of a lady who was brought to [the] hospital on 2-2-17 in the morning for delivery and enquiry will be completed within five days,” said an order.
