Protesters block highway in Banihal after woman dies of alleged medical negligence

Protests erupted in Banihal town of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday after a pregnant woman died at a hospital here, allegedly due to medical negligence.
Hundreds of locals and relatives of the woman, identified as Zubaida Begum (30), wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Magray, and resident of Ashar village of Banihal staged a protest on Srinagar-Jammu highway to demand action against the “erring” staff of Emergency Hospital Banihal.
The protesters blocked the highway for nearly two hours to demand booking of the entire hospitals staff for what they said murder of the woman.
They alleged that the in-charge gynaecologist posted at the hospital did not attend the patient until she breathed her last.
