HYDERABAD: Alleging that their 18-year-old son died due to medical negligence, parents of a bike mechanic staged a protest in front of a registered medical practitioner's (RMP) house at Nagole on Sunday.

The victim V Siva, who was suffering from fever, went to RMP Shankar of Hanuman Nagar for treatment five days ago. Shankar administered two injections to Siva and sent him home. As his condition did not improve, Siva went to Shankar again on Saturday. The RMP gave two more injections to him.
When Siva's health deteriorated on Saturday night, family members rushed him to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Hospital in Nagole and then to a corporate hospital in LB Nagar. Siva succumbed on Sunday nightwhile undergoing treatment.
After his death, Siva's family members staged a protest in front of Shankar's locked house-cum-clinic at Hanuman Nagar. Based on the complaint lodged by Siva's father Komaraiah, the LB Nagar police registered a medical negligence case under section 304-A of the IPC. Shankar is currently absconding.
