Eye operation leaves 10 blind

Ten persons lost their eyesight after being operated upon at a free eye camp in Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Government has ordered an investigation into the incident, saying it would not tolerate incidents of medical negligence. The Andhra Pradesh Government launched an inquiry into the shocking incident in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, where ten people lost their vision in a free eye camp conducted by the Bollineni Eye Hospital and research center. A total of 22 people were infected with 7 more approaching hospitals in Chennai and Vijayawada with post surgery complications. Andhra Pradesh Health Minister D Nagender said the government would act against the hospital if the tragedy were a result of negligence.
