Boy dies of 'medical negligence'

 A seven-year-old boy died due to alleged medical negligence at Vani Vilas Women and Children’s Hospital in Bangalore. While doctors said Alex Raj succumbed to advanced hepatic encephalopathy and other complications, his parents alleged that it was because doctors gave him wrong treatment. Alex, a class 1 student, was admitted to the hospital following high  fever and gastroenteritis. Dr Gangadhar Belawadi of the Department of Paediatrics at the hospital said the child was in the early stages of hepatic encephalopathy when admitted to the hospital .The child was also suffering from gastro-intestinal bleeding and jaundice. He had a history of a discharge from his right ear for the past five years,” he said.Victoria Hospital police have registered a case under IPC Section 304A (causing death by negligence).
