Indore: Following death of an infant at district hospital on Monday, her familymembers created ruckus alleging medical negligence on part of hospital staff. They also ransacked nurses' room and later lodged a police complaint against staff.

Sangita Baghel, resident of Sirpur, delivered a baby girl on June 4 and got her vaccinated in the hospital on the same day.

"Mother and child both were healthy after the delivery but conditions of the baby started deteriorating after being vaccination. Doctors and nurses of the hospital neglected their call after the baby got fever which proved fatal for her," deceased's father Suresh Baghel said.

He said that the baby was vaccinated at 8 pm on June 4 and got fever in the night. "Duty doctors told us that it is normal symptoms after vaccination but they didn't give any treatment due to which we lost our baby," he said. Meanwhile, civil surgeon Dr Ratan Khandelwal denied medical negligence and said, "The baby was treated by Dr Hemant Dwivedi who had given her paracetamol. It seems that baby died due to improper feeding."
